*Portmarnock Family Practice is participating in the Free GP care scheme for Children Under 6 years of age and for the Over 70's GP visit card. If you live in our practice area you can apply online on line at gpvisitcard.ie. If you do not have a valid card there will be a charge for the visit.

*FLU VACCINE 2016/2017 (Free to eligible groups & over 65 year olds who have medical card: 25 euro for private patients)
Portmarnock Family Practice is administering the 2016/2017 FLU vaccine and Pneumococcal vaccine to all at risk groups. These include the over 65 years old patients, patients with respiratory or cardiac conditions, neurological conditions, diabetics, pregnant women and immunosuppressed patients. There has been a high amount of circulating influenza in the community in December and January 2017.
Please ring reception for an appointment. Appointments available every day.
*There has been an increased incidence of viral respiratory tract illnesses especially affecting young children.
undertheweather.ie is a website giving advise how to manage common illnesses and is useful to parents of young children. Most of these illnesses are viral and can be managed by parents themselves.
*New vaccination schedule will be offered to children born after 1/10/2016.. this includes Meningitis B(Bexsero) and Rota virus vaccine (Rotarix).
If you wish your older children to be vaccinated against meningitis B, we can arrange this for you privately.
*Portmarnock Family Practice has a WALK IN Clinic 9-10 am Monday-Friday for acute/urgent problems. No Appointment necessary!
*Portmarnock Family Practice is a registered Travel Vaccination and Yellow Fever Vaccination centre. For advice on all travel vaccinations please ring the surgery.
*We are registered with the Cervical Screening Programme which offers free smear testing to women between the ages of 25-60. Please log onto cervicalcheck.ie to check your eligibility and for comprehensive information on cervical smear testing.
*We are administering Chicken pox vaccines and Meningitis B vaccines on request. Please ring the surgery for more details. Both of these vaccinations require 2 doses each. Please book an appointment with the nurse
