Phlebotomy (Blood Testing) Clinics
Blood Tests are carried out by the practice nurse on Wednesday and Friday mornings. A courier takes these bloods mid morning to Beaumont hospital. The type of blood tests taken will be decided by the Doctor at prior consultation. You may be asked to fast for your blood tests. Please make an appointment at reception to have your bloods done. Please note: Due to the large number of tests taken on a daily basis it is not possible for patients to be contacted individually with results. It is important that you contact the surgery for your results. We would appreciate if you ring the reception in the morning time and leave your name and contact phone number and a member of staff will get back to you with your results in the afternoon.
Immunisation Clinics
Childhood immunisations are given by the Practice Nurse. They are given to babies at the age of 2 months, 4 months, 6 months, 12 months and 13 months and School Booster immunisations that are missed out at school can also be provided during routine Practice Nurse Surgery hours. Immunisation clinics are held on Wednesday and Friday mornings and Tuesday afternoons. Please ring the reception to make an appointment.
Ante-Natal Clinics
Ante-Natal Care is provided free under the Maternity & Infant Scheme; you can fill out a Combined Care application form on your first visit to the Doctor. This includes a baby check at 2 weeks and mother and baby check at 6 weeks.
Cervical Smear Testing
The Practice Nurse carries out free smear tests to women between the ages of 25-60 who have received a letter of invitation from the Cervical Screening Programme on Tuesday afternoons. Wednesday and Friday morning appointments can be facilitated also. Private smears are facilitated also.
